Judith (Judy) Clark, SPHR, CPC, Owner and President, has over 35 years human resources experience, more than 23 of which have been in consulting.  Additionally, she serves as adjunct faculty to the School of Business at Portland State University and at the University of Washington, teaching a variety of HR classes in the Human Resource Management certificate programs. 

Judy is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) through the Human Resource Certification Institute and as a Certified Professional Consultant (CPC) through the International Guild of Professional Consultants. 

She is one of only six trainers/consultants in the nation to be certified to teach the highly acclaimed “Shades of Gray” sexual harassment program.  Judy served for six years on the national board of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and currently serves on the board of the SHRM Foundation.  She also served for five years on the Board of Directors for SHRM’s Consultants Forum, including a term as President of the Board.  She has a busy national presentation and training schedule, giving more than 15 presentations each month.  Judy has been a writer for the Portland Business Journal, a manuscript reviewer for the national HR Magazine, and serves on a variety of community service boards and committees.


Deborah Jeffries, PHR, CPC, Vice President, is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through the Human Resource Certification Institute and has 21 years experience in the human resources field.  Deborah is also a Certified Professional Consultant (CPC) through the International Guild of Professional Consultants. 

She is the editor of HR Answers’ monthly newsletter, Advantage, and also manages the Willamette Valley Office.  As a consultant, she works with clients on their employment compliance, handbooks, policy manuals, recruitment processes, and training needs.  Deborah’s past experience includes recruiting, training, education, and marketing.  She holds a BS in Psychology and a teaching certificate from Willamette University. 

As a trainer, Deborah works with organizations on the employment process, recruitment, orientation, performance, recognition, discharge, customer service, harassment, marketing strategies, and improved communication styles.  Additionally, she has served as adjunct faculty to Marylhurst University and Portland State University, teaching business students key elements of human resources.  Deborah is an active member of the Northwest Human Resource Management Association (NHRMA), and has served as Chapter President of her local human resources association.  She is a past Board Member of both the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)’s Oregon State Council and SHRM Area V, which includes Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.


Lorry Christian, SPHR, is a Professional Consultant with 12 years of human resources experience in telecommunications and wholesale foodservice, and a strong supervisory background in electronic manufacturing.  As a human resource generalist, Lorry has skills and expertise in staffing and recruiting, employee relations, workers compensation, compensation administration, compliance, and training.  Lorry is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Portland Human Resource Management Association (PHRMA).  She has maintained her certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources through the Human Resources Certification Institute since 1997.  Lorry graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS in Psychology.


Laura Comiskey, is the Staffing Team Manager for HR Extras with more than 12 years of human resources experience in telecommunications and recruiting.  As a human resource generalist, Laura has skills and expertise in staffing, recruiting, employee relations, training, compliance, and workplace safety. 

Organizations look to Laura and the HR Extras program to assist with various steps of their recruiting efforts and to fill their HR positions (Recruiter, Generalist, Manager, VP of HR, and HR Admin., etc.)

Laura is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Portland Human Resource Management Association (PHRMA), along with holding membership with the Business Professional Women’s Association (BPWA) Portland Chapter.  Laura regularly participates as a mentor for youth at risk with the Oregon Youth Authority and conducts Mock Interviews with Gladstone High School Juniors and seniors.      


Cathy Lamb-Mullin, PHR, is a Professional Consultant with more than 10 years of human resources experience.  Her human resource experience includes a strong background in the manufacturing industry, working as a Human Resource Manager.  As a human resource generalist, Cathy has skills and expertise in salary surveys, staffing and recruiting, open enrollment and legal compliance assistance, EEOC reporting and compliance, worker compensation, employee opinion surveys, and OSHA reporting and compliance.  Cathy is affiliated with both the national and local human resource management organizations – Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Portland Human Resource Management Association (PHRMA).  She has maintained her certification as a Professional in Human Resources through the Human Resources Certification Institute.  Graduating from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts, her concentration was in Accounting.  Cathy also holds a Masters of Science, with concentration in Human Resources from Marylhurst University.


Wendi Martin, PHR, GPHR, is a Project Specialist with more than 10 years of human resources experience. Her background includes start-ups, reorganizations, and acquisition projects in both domestic and international environments.  She has focused primarily on small and midsized companies with challenges in the areas of performance improvement, talent acquisition and retention, compliance, and employee relations.

Wendi received her BS in Management and a Certificate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Georgia Tech. She also maintains certifications as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) through the Human Resources Certification Institute and is affiliated with both the national and local human resource management organizations – Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Portland Human Resource Management Association (PHRMA).

Wendi is a member of Entrepreneurial Women of Portland, is a former Steering Committee Co-Chair for the Technician Performance Improvement Council, and facilitates job shadow and career development programs through local schools and non-profits.


Peter Paskill is a Senior Consultant and Director of CareerMakers.  He has had 40 years of successful business and executive management experience with 20 years focused on the development and implementation of effective career transition techniques.  Peter brings a strong frontline business background from retail, wholesale, manufacturing and business start-up.  He has been a partner in the career management firm CareerMakers since 1984 and has provided career counseling and outplacement services to thousands of clients, including individual job seekers/changers and corporate clients.  One of Peter's strong suits is developing corporate relationships and securing their outplacement and career transition business.  Corporate clients have included adidas, Norm Thompson, Portland State University, TransCore, Portland General
Electric, Electro Scientific Industries, Boyds Coffee and Intel.  On an ongoing basis, Peter provides one-on-one career counseling for Nike employees and "trailing spouse" relocation for Freightliner. 

He is a member of the Portland Human Resources Management Association having served on the Board of Directors and numerous committees, and is also a member of the Society For Human Resource Management.  He has been a business school lecturer at Portland State University and Stanford University.  Peter is the founder of the Northwest Career Fair and appears regularly as the career counselor on KATU-TV's "AM Northwest."  He is the co-author of Want A New Better Fantastic Job? How To Find Satisfying Work in a Topsy-Turvy World.


Joan Sampson, PHR, is a Professional Consultant with more than 12 years of human resources experience.  She has worked in multiple industries ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small, private organizations as a manager and consultant.  In her work as a generalist, while dealing with all aspects of human resources, including compliance, policy development, safety, compensation and benefits, her focus has been on employee relations, the staffing/recruitment process and performance management areas.  She maintains her certification as a Professional in Human Resources through the Human Resources Certification Institute.  

Joan is affiliated with both the national and local human resource management organizations—Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Portland Human Resource Management Association (PHRMA).  Joan has served as a Volunteer Mediator with the City of Beaverton’s Dispute Resolution Center since 1998, including mediating neighborhood, tenant/landlord, business/customer and victim/offender disputes, and facilitating high-stakes discussions.  She currently focuses on providing “facilitated conversations” for workplace situations, and shares her knowledge about the benefits of the conflict resolution process by speaking with school and community groups.  She is a member of the Oregon Mediation Association.  Her collaborative style, direct communication and genuineness in consideration for all parties involved are strengths she brings to both mediation and consulting.  Graduating from Oregon State University with a degree in Business Administration, her concentration was in human resources with a minor in the behavioral sciences.


Harriet Saxe, SPHR, is a Senior Consultant with more than 25 years of human resources experience. She has worked in multiple federal agencies including NASA, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). While with the VA, she received an award from Portland Public Schools for launching an employment program for at-risk teens, and a Hammer Award from the Office of the Vice President for her role in a significant regional reorganization that was replicated on a national basis. Harriet has been with HR Answers, Inc. for seven years and has been assigned to numerous projects in the public sector, in non-profit organizations, and in for-profit organizations. She has skills and expertise in salary surveys, compensation systems, and performance management systems. 


Donald R. Walker, CMC, is a Senior Consultant with over 35 years of experience in the field of human resources and general management.  Prior to joining forces with HR Answers, Don was President and founder of Martech Associates, inc. a Portland-based consulting firm specializing in human resource, compensation, recruitment, and general management consulting areas.  Don is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and a past President of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Institute of management Consultants (IMC).  IMC is the certifying body for management consultants in North America.  Don’s earlier career included seven years of experience in the Human Resources Department of First Interstate Bank.  Don next served as the Human Resources Manager of Omark Industries, Inc., where he was involved in compensation, in addition to managing the Human Resources Department of a two-plant operation. 

His last position with Omark was Division Director with responsibility for the domestic and international operations of a major operating unit of the company.  Don has attended many compensation, human resources, and general management seminars conducted by the American Management Association (AMA) and the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC).  Don is a graduate of Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Technology.  He has also taken graduate courses at the University of Oregon in Business Administration.  Don has also served as a part-time instructor for Portland and Mt. Hood Community Colleges where he taught courses in human resources management and small business entrepreneurship.


Tina Weber, SPHR, is a Senior Consultant and has more than 25 years of human resources experience in both the public and private sectors.  Prior to her ten years in consulting, she held human resources positions with the State of Missouri-Department of Mental Health.  Tina is a generalist with a broad background that includes compensation, benefits administration, HR audits, employee relations, affirmative action, human resources policy and procedure development, and employment law compliance. 

She received her BS in Business Administration-Human Resources Management from Portland State University.  She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR) by the Human Resource Certification Institute, is currently working towards becoming a Certified Compensation Professional, and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Portland Human Resource Management Association (PHRMA), the Columbia Willamette Compensation Group, and the NW EEO Association.  In addition, Tina holds positions on the Boards of the Portland Human Resource Management Association and a local healthcare non-profit organization.


Kellye Wise has provided labor and employee relations’ assistance to employers in the Pacific Northwest and California for more than 24 years.  He has represented employers in collective bargaining for more than 70 labor negotiations with a broad range of unions, as well as assisted employers with administration of their labor agreements including the grievance process and representing employers in arbitrations. 

As a Senior Consultant for HR Answers, Inc., Kellye has worked with employers in a wide scope of employee relations’ matters, ranging from development and application of employee policies, job performance standards, compliance issues and leave administration matters.  He regularly assists employers with addressing disciplinary situations, including the termination process.  Kellye has worked with employers to successfully investigate and address both state and federal agencies’ complaints alleging various types of discrimination and harassment. 

As a trainer, he has developed and presented management training on a wide range of employee relations’ matters, including harassment and discrimination, job performance, documentation and discipline and successfully meeting the issues that impact today’s workplace supervisor.  In addition to presenting training for individual companies, Kellye has spoken extensively to employer audiences both locally and regionally, and has been a regular speaker for the Oregon Employers’ Council (OEC) groups.  He serves as an advisor to the Tualatin Valley Employers Council (TVEC).  Kellye has been a member of the Oregon State Bar since 1983, after graduating from the University of Oregon School of Law.  He also has a Journalism degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
