11/22/02 - Thanksgiving Trend
|
| |
With Thanksgiving around the corner, we thought you might be interested in what other companies are reporting that they are offering their employees as perks:
- 69% of employers are offering both Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday off as paid holidays.
- 98% of employers are offering at least Thursday the 28th as a paid holiday.
- Nearly half of all surveyed employers plan on having at least a few workers on staff.
- Health care workers are least likely to get two days of holiday pay with manufacturing employees most likely to receive two days.
- Those who have to work will find themselves well compensated for working the holiday. Many organizations will pay a holiday premium or will offer compensatory time off on another day.
- Finally, only 15% of organizations plan on giving Thanksgiving gifts this holiday. Six percent will give away gift certificates for food and five percent will give away turkeys.
Statistics from Bureau of National Affairs, “Bulletin to Management.”
